If you are in the process of buying a house, we strongly recommend that you get a drainage survey. Your building surveyor might even have requested that you do this. A drainage survey could save you thousands of pounds!
We provide a drainage map with our surveys so you can understand the layout or plan for a future extension.
Already planning an extension on your property? Get in touch, we can provide you with a WRC-approved Drainage Survey for your agreement. If you have already built your extension we can also provide you with a Post build-over survey.
We offer CCTV drain surveys to identify any issues with your drainage system and provide a detailed report. Our advanced technology allows us to detect even the smallest of problems.
Don't need a full Survey? - A CCTV Drainage Inspection is cost cost-saving way to get your drains checked, an inspection doesn't come with any documentation it is what we call in this industry "A look and see"
A CCTV Inspection can identify where a foul smell might be coming from, or if you have a rodent issue we can find where they are entering the property.
If you are buying a house, need a legal document or claiming on your insurance then you will definitely need a Survey. If you just need to know what's wrong or just find an issue then an inspection might be the better option.
Drainage Survey costs range between £185.00 and £295.00. Drainage inspection typically cost around £120.00.
Costs vary on the location and size of properties.
Foul smells often come from an air gap in a pipe, an air admittance valve or blockages. Sometimes after getting a new bathroom smells start to appear from poor plumbing installations.
The most common way we have found that rats get into properties is from pipes that haven't been blocked off properly after having an extension built! Did you move your kitchen?!
Failed Drainage is the leading cause of damp issues in a property. The most common issue is a broken gully near a corner or side wall. most often it's a drain gully taking a downpipe.
The simple answer here is yes if you are building over a shared sewer drain. What is a shared Sewer? - A sewer is a system that links two or more properties together.
Cracks are common in clay/pot drains but they are usually the start of every problem, a crack leads to fractures, and so on..
If a crack is near a joint it is a bit more serious and might need remedial work.
Fractures in the drain are more serious than cracks because water can get through them and cause subsidence. We can use a patch liner to fix these issues with our no-dig tech solutions.
Open Joints and Joint displacements vary in severity. Large Open joints and large Joint displacements will need remedial work but medium ones can often be left unless they can cause blockages or they are clearly leaking.
Holes in the drain are very serious especially if they are on the bottom of the pipe. Water can easily escape and wash the ground away. They are often places rats use for tunneling.
A break is a piece of pipe that is hinged but not yet come away from the pipe. Remedial work will often be needed and depending on the severity it might be possible to patch line it.
When a drain has collapsed, unfortunately, it's time to get the spade out and repair or replace the pipe. The pipe will unserviceable.
It is recommended that the pipe be fixed as soon as possible to stop sewage leaking.
